The problem
After e-Invoicing went live, finance teams have XML/JSON records in one system and PDFs customers ask for in another, with no single archive.
The outcome
A searchable archive per customer and month, with the validated UUID, status and PDF together — ready for audits and customer queries.
Before you start
- An e-Invoice solution already integrated with LHDN MyInvois (most ERPs and middleware vendors provide this). This flow does not submit e-Invoices to LHDN itself.
- A Word template for the visual invoice, including a placeholder image for the validation QR code.
Build it step by step
- Receive the validated record — Your middleware calls the flow's HTTP trigger with invoice data, the MyInvois UUID, long ID and status.
- Build the validation link — Compose the public validation URL your middleware returns (or that LHDN specifies) and turn it into a QR image if the middleware doesn't supply one.
- Generate the PDF — Adobe PDF Services Generate document merges the JSON into the Word template, including the QR code, and outputs PDF.
- Archive — Save to
e-Invoices/<customer>/<yyyy-MM>with columns: invoice no., UUID, validation date, status, total. - Send to customer — Optionally email the PDF to the customer's billing address.
Connector action names are shown as they appear in Power Automate at the time of writing; Microsoft and Adobe occasionally rename actions or add new versions.
Error handling
- Secure the HTTP trigger: restrict who can call it (the 2025+ trigger options allow Entra ID–only callers) and validate a shared secret header.
Licensing
- HTTP trigger is premium. Adobe PDF Services is per transaction.
Variations
- Handle cancellations: when the middleware reports a cancelled e-Invoice, update the status column and stamp the PDF 'CANCELLED' with Adobe PDF Services.
