You'll need

  • An Adobe account (free tier for development)
  • Power Automate

1. Get credentials

  1. Sign in at the Adobe Developer Console, create a project and add the PDF Services API.
  2. Copy the Client ID and Client Secret. Treat the secret like a password.

2. Create the connection

  1. In Power Automate, add any Adobe PDF Services action and create a connection with the Client ID and Secret.

3. Try three actions

  1. OCR PDF on a scanned file → save as -ocr.pdf.
  2. Merge PDFs with two files → one output.
  3. Compress PDF on a large file → compare sizes.

4. Move to production

The free tier has a monthly transaction cap. For production volume, buy the Acrobat Services API enterprise plan through a reseller; usage is counted per document transaction.

Tips

  • Store the secret in an environment variable or Azure Key Vault-backed secret rather than hard-coding it in flows.
