You'll need

  • Microsoft Word (desktop or web)
  • Adobe Document Generation Tagger add-in
  • Adobe PDF Services connection

1. Prepare sample JSON

Sample data for a quotation
{
  "customer": { "name": "Syarikat Maju Sdn Bhd", "regNo": "201901012345" },
  "items": [
    { "product": "Acrobat Pro for teams", "qty": 10, "price": 1309.85 },
    { "product": "Acrobat Sign Solutions for business", "qty": 2, "price": 2184.00 }
  ],
  "isGovernment": false
}

2. Tag the template

  1. Open the add-in, paste the JSON, and click Generate Tags.
  2. Insert basic tags for customer.name.
  3. Insert a table tag bound to items so each item becomes a row.
  4. Add a conditional section that only shows when isGovernment is true (e.g. government terms).

3. Generate in a flow

  1. Add Generate document from Word template (Adobe PDF Services).
  2. Template = the tagged DOCX; JSON = your data; output = PDF.

4. Test edge cases

Empty arrays, long names, Malay and Chinese characters, and numbers with decimals — check each renders correctly.

Tips

  • Keep templates in a controlled SharePoint library with versioning; flows should read the latest approved version.
